A new condominium in Kips Bay combines the personal and professional under one roof. On the corner of Second Avenue and 29th Street, Hendrix House offers 60 residences and an amenity package that is extremely functional for the modern New Yorker. Not only is there a stunning co-working space and lobby with an adjacent courtyard for al-fresco work, but residences have carefully crafted home offices with custom furniture and shelving. Sales recently launched at Hendrix House, with studios priced from $895,000.
Developed by New Empire Corp. and designed by architecture firm DXA Studio, Hendrix House rises 12 stories and includes a mix of 60 studio, one-, and two-bedroom homes. The pandemic was still impacting much of the world when development began on the building, leading the design team to factor in the new normal of working remotely, which remains popular for many workers today.
All residences in the tower have an efficiently-designed home office, outfitted with custom cabinetry and desk grommets for cord management. A shelving system and sliding soft-close desk drawers provide a comfortable work-from-home setup.
The project’s flexible indoor and outdoor amenity spaces allow for multiple uses, whether socializing, relaxing, or hosting a work meeting. There’s a bright lobby lounge with lots of seating connected to a landscaped courtyard and a cellar-level co-working center with a calming design that beats working in any cubicle.
Other amenities include a fitness suite with a private yoga studio, a wellness spa with a steam room and sauna, and a landscaped rooftop with grills and lounge chairs.
“Community spaces and interconnected living are more important today than ever before, and this one-of-a-kind, custom-tailored project fully realizes that philosophy,” Bentley Zhao, Chairman and CEO of New Empire Corp, said. “We are thrilled to bring this exciting new project to life with such an incredible, world-class team.”
