The International Leadership Foundation (ILF) recently concluded its highly successful 2025 Annual Conference in Washington D.C., and one of the most inspiring takeaways was their unwavering commitment to nurturing the next generation of Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) leaders. For 26 years, ILF has been a beacon of opportunity, and this year's conference truly showcased their impact.

Opening Doors for Future Trailblazers
At the heart of ILF's mission is the belief that every young person deserves a chance to lead. This year, the conference proudly welcomed "Youth Leadership Civic Fellows" from 23 top universities across the U.S., alongside 33 elite high school students from the "Youth Leadership Academy." These bright young minds spent their summer immersed in training and internships, laying crucial groundwork for careers in public service and leadership. It's a powerful reminder that investing in youth is investing in our collective future.
ILF Founder, Michelle Doo, eloquently captured this vision: "For 26 years, ILF has been dedicated to opening doors of opportunity for thousands of high school and college students through civic research and leadership training programs. Our goal is to cultivate the next generation of capable and aspiring Asian American leaders, especially children from underserved communities."

Mentorship That Matters
Beyond programs, ILF understands the power of mentorship. Their robust National Advisory Council and Global Advisory Board are populated by accomplished AAPI entrepreneurs, professionals, and community leaders – individuals who serve as vital role models. Imagine learning from someone like Secretary Elaine Chao, whose incredible career spans both the Departments of Transportation and Labor. This direct access to seasoned leaders is invaluable, providing guidance and inspiration that no textbook can offer.
A Legacy of Leadership: The Founder's Circle
Celebrating its 25th anniversary, ILF further solidified its commitment to leadership by establishing the "Founder's Circle." This exclusive group of 20 luminaries from various fields underscores a deep dedication to fostering impact within the community. Their collective wisdom and experience will undoubtedly propel ILF's mission forward for years to come.
The ILF conference wasn't just an event; it was a vibrant testament to the power of investing in youth and cultivating a strong pipeline of AAPI leaders who will shape our world.
